A.P. Verdict in 1977 and 1984 Elections

In A.P. politics, there are two instances, where A.P. has given completely different verdict when compared to the entire country. In 1977, when the entire country voted against Congress, in A.P., Congress won 41 seats out of 42. In 1984, after the death of Indira Gandhi, when the entire country voted for Congress Party, in A.P., it lost very badly. TDP and it's alliances won 36 seats and TDP became the Chief Opposition Party. That was the first time and probably the only time, when a regional party was the Chief Opposition Party.

During the emergency, Jalagam Vengalarao was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He has taken enough measures to reduce the impact of emergency in A.P. When all the leaders were arrested in the entire country, in A.P., he did not do the same thing. When Indira Gandhi asked him, why he was not arresting the leaders, he responded saying, why to give unnecessary importance and make them as big leaders by arresting them. Because of him only, in the elections after emergency, Congress won with a great majority in A.P.

Two and half months before the assassination of Indira Gandhi, she played major role in removing N.T.Rama Rao from C.M. post and gave support to Nadendla Bhaskar Rao to become C.M. After one month, When Nadendla Bhaskara Rao was asked to prove his majority in the Assembly, he could not prove and N.T.Rama Rao became Chief Minister again. N.T.Rama Rao got the sympathy that, he was unfairly removed from C.M. post by Indira Gandhi. Because of that, even after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, A.P. people voted for N.T.Rama Rao.

If Telangana Movement Continues the Same way They Get Telangana

Till some time back, I used to hate KCR and his supporters. After I moved out of Telangana, I changed my opinion. Now, I say, KCR and Kodandaram should take the movement in the same way for next 3-4 years, and then the process for the separate state should be started.

My main worry and the worry of other people who are from coastal andhra and rayalaseema is Hyderabad. Till 1996, the present costly areas in Hyderabad like Madhapur, Kondapur and Gachibowli were either forests or hills. After Chandrababu Naidu made a mistake of developing Hyderabad, instead of developing Kuppam, Chittoor, or Tirupathi which are very near to Chennai, KCR started the Telangana movement, and Telangana people are demanding separate Telangana with Hyderabad. Everybody is ready to form a separate state with all the backward districts. But, KCR and his supporters never want that. They want separate state with their chosen districts and Hyderabad exclusively. If anyone demands the capital exclusively, it is plain robbery.

Recently, I realized that, if the movement continues for another 3-4 years, then coastal area people will not lose anything.

Till 2004, the land rates between Vijayawada and Guntur were very less. After that, they almost touched sky. All the real estate agents, used to say that, Telangana state may come at any time, and capital would be formed at Vijayawada. You will get 10 or 20 times to what you buy now. Whenever TRS won in the elections (They contested almost every year since 2004), the land rates used to go up significantly. When they lost, it did not go down significantly. Telangana movement helped people to get better price for the land they have.

Since, Andhra people's main worry is, they are not interested in losing the developed area, the Telangana supporters decided to make it undeveloped. Once Hyderabad becomes undeveloped, andhra people will not ask for Hyderabad. Then, nobody would object for Telangana, and a separate state would be formed.

Bhagavadgita Verse - Treating Everyone Equally

vidya-vinaya-sampanne
brahmane gavi hastini
suni caiva sva-pake ca
panditah sama-darsinah

The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater.

- Bhagavadgita 5.18

I am not a sage like in the above verse. But, I treat Gandhi and KCR equally.

You need to have lot of knowledge to understand this post. If you are desperate to know it, please call me to hear discourses on this.

Wasting Time of A Big Personality

Many people say that, they like one big personality. Whenever they get chance to meet him for a second, they go and visit him, by spending few days in travel. That person is very busy in meeting all the "so called" fans of him. He hardly sleeps 1.5 hours per day. He does not get any off on weekends or holidays. In fact, on holidays, more people come to visit him.

All the "so called" fans of him say that, everyone must visit him regularly. They do not care whether that person is getting some rest or not. How can one say that, they like a person, when they never worry about whether that person is getting enough sleep or not?

Why are you going to Tirupathi?

Public Transport - Developed Country

A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars. It's where the rich use public transport.
- Gustavo Petro, Mayor of Bogota

I am not sure, how many people really understood this quote. In India, whenever somebody talks about equality among the people, most of the time, they mean, bringing down the rich people to the level of the poor, rather than developing poor people to the level of the rich.

In this case, socialists/communist people think this as, banning all the private vehicles and forcing everyone to use public transport. But, that is not the meaning of this.

In a developed country, the public transport is as friendly as private transport. That's why, even rich people would prefer to use public transport, since it saves lot of money and time. If the public transport is pathetic, then even poor people would have to buy their own vehicles for better transport.
