Background Information:
Present Congress Government has put an amendment bill to The Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001. By the new amendment, government gets right to interfere into any society in A.P, by citing reasons that the society is not functioning properly, or it is not following rules. Government can appoint a representative to control it for three years. There are more than 2 lakh societies in A.P. All the temples, political parties, social organizations, NGOs, and many others are formed as socieities. By this amendment, government can control all of these.
